We are a collective of university academics researching whistleblowing from a social sciences perspective. We are based at the University of Galway, Warwick Business School UK  and other locations. Recent changes in law offer whistleblowers protection, and mandate organizations to implement new whistleblowing systems. Our research examines system best practice so that workers speaking out can be protected. But we also focus on what happens when the laws and systems fail.

Our research aims to benefit:

  1. Whistleblowing workers and their families, with understanding of the potential impacts of whistleblowing: the financial, mental health, and career costs.
  2. Whistleblowing supporters and advocates, with research-based insights into post-disclosure survival.
  3. Managers in organizations, HR and compliance professionals, with best practice in speak-up arrangements.
  4. Politicians and civil servants involved in developing new whistleblower legislation, with insights into the infrastructures that better protect whistleblowers.

We have developed clear and practical guides, reports, articles, and videos based on our research. Feel free to use.
